Privacy Policy

How Held In Memory handles personal information.

Last updated: June 2026. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices families and guests have when using heldinmemory.com.au.

Information we collect

Account details: name and email address for family accounts. Memorial content: names, dates, stories, photos, service details and links you choose to add. Guestbook messages: guest names, email addresses, messages, IP address and browser details to help prevent spam. Technical data: server logs and cookies required to operate the site securely.

How we use it

We use information to create and display memorial pages, let families manage pages, moderate guestbook memories, send account and review notifications, prevent spam and keep the service working reliably.

Public memorial pages

Memorial content may be visible to anyone with the page link, unless the family chooses to keep a page unlisted. Guestbook messages are reviewed by the family before they appear.

Email and notifications

We send essential service emails such as email verification, password reset messages and guestbook review alerts. These are part of operating the memorial service.

Storage and service providers

The site runs on WordPress hosting and uses standard website services such as email delivery, security, backups and analytics/server logs where needed. We do not sell personal information.

Your choices

You can ask us to correct or remove information, subject to legal, security and operational requirements. Families can edit memorial content through their account.
